Due to a mechanical issue (well pump) in the school building, the DAMASCUS AREA SCHOOL will operate on a Flexible Instruction Day (FID – virtual learning) on Friday, February 13, 2026.
Damascus students should not report to school on this day. Instead, they will complete their instructional activities and assignments from home via remote learning. It is anticipated that the mechanical issue will be resolved and school will resume normal procedures on Tuesday - February 17, 2026, following the holiday weekend.
This communication DOES NOT impact any other Wayne Highlands school. All schools, other than Damascus, will operate normally (to include transportation), on Friday - February 13, 2026.
HHS Annual Color Run/Walk
The Honesdale High School Class of 2027 is hosting a color run to help defray costs for its senior class trip with our 6th Annual Color Fun Walk / Run
Choose between a 1 mile or 3 mile course. Whether you walk or run, prepare to be colorful!

When: Saturday, October 19, 2024 (Raindate: Sunday, October 20, 2024)
Location: Honesdale Track Complex
Registration starts at 9:30 a.m.
Run Begins at 10:00 AM
Cost:
$25 - Ages 13 and up
$15 - Ages 5- 12
Free - Ages 0 - 4
(Pay by September 27, 2024 to guarantee a free t-shirt)
Children 0-4 will not receive a t-shirt. They must be accompanied by a guardian at all times.
For each registration listed above, a member of the Class of 2027 will receive $5.
Description:
We will have several stations throughout the course in which participants will run, walk, or dance through colorful powder on their way to the finish line, so please dress in clothing you are not afraid to get colorful! The proceeds of this event will be donated to the FBLA service project and will be used to defray the cost of the Honesdale High School Class of 2027 Senior Class Trip.
Online registrations for the HHS Color Run have now closed. But, we will still take walk-up registrations Saturday morning, beginning at 9:30 AM.
